Revealed last week EA Sports – a trademark of Electronic Arts The next chapter in their football saga with EFC 25which was introduced with a star-studded trailer featuring names such as Jude Bellingham and David Beckham.
Over the summer, several “deep dives” have been promised where players will learn more about all the new and improved features. The first is the gaming experience, and EA SPORTS has now released one of them. Game trailerWhere everything from tactics to player movements is shown and explained. We've collected some of the most important points below:
FCIQ
The big news is a complete overhaul of the tactical foundations of the entire game, providing greater strategic control and more realistic team movements. FC IQ helps modernize how tactics and positioning interact to create greater variety and authenticity in the game. New Artificial Intelligence ModelBacked by real-world data, it also influences player tactics through all-new player roles.
Thanks to real data from top football teams and players, EA has been able to recreate the visual characteristics of real players. FC IQ is the latest cornerstone of the game with the aim of combining all the features of the game into a true final product.
Player roles
The tactical overhaul improves positioning on both sides of the pitch and changes the way each team plays based on their real-life playing style. This makes every match feel fresh and unique, with an emphasis on simulating the tactical chess play of real-life big matches.
Player roles are the main factor that defines FC IQ, and they govern how each player thinks, acts and moves off the ball. Each role is unique and has its pros and cons.
The majority of roles are assigned using a proprietary AI model that uses real Opta data. Each player will have “role knowledge” that allows them to perform their tasks to a higher level than other players.
For example, Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior would be better off playing as an inverted winger than a defensive winger. Roles also determine how your players line up with and without the ball, and you can see this in the menus where you can also see how players fit into different roles.
smart tactics
Smart Tactics makes in-game tactical decisions easier and more intuitive, allowing players to better experience their changes as they take effect.
A new notification system will suggest a series of tactical changes to the game based on the current flow of the match, and players will be able to easily make the changes using the directional buttons on the controller (D-pad). This can also be done manually by the player, similar to how you can switch between “ultra defense” and “ultra offense” today.
