EA President Talks New Dragon Age: 'A Return to What Made Bioware Great'

Dragon Age: Veil Averages north of 80 on comparison sites like opencritic and Metacritic. Something much better than, for example, Anthem and Mass Effect: Andromeda. EA CEO Andrew Wilson goes so far as to call the game “Back to what made Bioware great”.

This is what Wilson said regarding a financial report where he also recalled how Bioware wanted to do something “very, very different” with Anthem. It didn't exactly make sense, but Wilson claims that Bioware changed after Anthem and “Back to Bioware games” and “Critical Program Strengths”.

Wilson points out how Bioware is going back to what it was “Rich worlds”, “fine letters” and “Captivating stories”. Wilson says that “fighting back” and having the time to do so is the difference.

I think it's precisely this return to what made BioWare great and giving time for the studio to present what makes BioWare great in the context of the Dragon Age universe that results in a game like Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

Someone who doesn't agree that the game is good is FZ's Mikael Berg. He gives the game two out of five:

Now the ancient kings of role-playing are tightening their bows once again and intent on proving that you still have 'it'. After more than fifty hours in Thedas, the undersigned claim to know the answer, but they don't.
