It was a double win for the NVP at the Free Newspaper Association’s annual gala, which took place Friday night. We won the newspaper editor of the year and local website categories of the year, in stiff competition with other free newspapers from around the country.
This is what the jury wrote in its justification for editing our paper magazine: “This year’s winner is so well edited that you’ll want to read the magazine right away. With a clear, well-used design system, well-functioning typography, and a sense of contrasts, a newspaper with a modern character is created.”
The praise continues: “The content is a well-balanced mix of text, images, and ads with headlines that look well thought out and create reading interest, on the cover as well as inside the magazine. Everything is professionally edited in a consistent style that makes the reader familiarize themselves and keeps coming back.”
In justification regarding our site, we are compared to newspapers with significantly larger muscles.
“This year’s winner has succeeded in creating a site that takes on the competition for news reporting in one of the most competitive regions in the country, and it does so at least like big dragons,” the jury wrote, concluding:
“Throw yourselves into the wall, DN. Hi Naka Farmado Posten!”
“Entrepreneur. Freelance introvert. Creator. Passionate reader. Certified beer ninja. Food nerd.”
