Anna Kinberg Batra says she has no intention of resigning as governor of Stockholm County Al-Masaa newspaper.
“I have five years to go, and I intend to do my best to make Stockholm stronger and safer,” she told the newspaper.
On Thursday, the Judicial Ombudsman (JO) leveled serious criticism at Kinberg Batra after reviewing three of her appointments to the district council.
JO Per Lennerbrant believes that her actions attest to “indifference and disrespect for the basic regulations that exist to maintain public confidence in public activities.”
Kinberg Batra says she takes the criticism seriously in a statement on the county board's website.
“I am particularly sorry for the effects my actions have had on staff and others. I made a mistake, but I never intended to act casually or disrespectfully in the way described.
The ST trade union believes that the government should demand Kinberg Batra's resignation.
– Confidence in state administration is otherwise at risk of erosion, says union president Britta Ligon in A press release.
