DJI presents the Mini 3 drone. It still weighs less than 250 grams.

DJI is now releasing its latest mini drone with the Mini 3, which weighs less than 250 grams, meaning anyone can fly it. The new drone has a 1/1.3-inch camera sensor that can shoot 4K HDR video and take photos at up to 48MP. It also supports “true vertical shooting,” meaning it can shoot vertically without cropping by rotating the camera — perfect for social media. As in the case of the iPhone 14 Pro and some Samsung phones, several pixels are combined to create a brighter image, and it is possible to take photos with a resolution of 48 or 12 megapixels.

The drone has a maximum flight time of 38 minutes according to DJI and with “DJI O2 Digital Video Transmission” you should be able to get 720p/30fps live feed at a distance of up to 10km. There are a range of pre-programmed flight settings, such as “Dronie” where the drone automatically changes altitude while the camera focuses on a specific subject or “Helix” where the drone flies in a spiral around the subject.

The Mini 3 also has smart functions such as Auto Takeoff, Return Home and Failsafe RTH which means the drone will automatically return to its starting point if it loses signal or if the battery runs low.
