Disposable guns to be banned in UK from June 2025 –

After much consideration, the UK government has decided to ban single-use firearms in England and Wales. The move was first announced in January under the previous Conservative government, but was not implemented until the new Labor government took over.

Ministers in the UK have announced a ban on single-use weapons to protect the environment and children's health. Wales has already confirmed it will follow the ban, while Scotland and Northern Ireland have not decided at the time of writing.

According to information from BBC A total of more than 40 tons of lithium-containing vapes will be discarded by 2022. Defra's Circular Economy Minister Mary Creagh describes it this way. “The bane of our cities”.

“That's why we're banning single-use vapes, because we're ending this country's wear-and-throw culture,” she said. “This is the first step on the path to a circular economy, where we use resources longer, reduce waste, accelerate the path to net zero and create thousands of jobs across the country.”

Because disposable vapes are often sold in brighter, more colorful packaging, compared to refillable vapes, they are often seen as a stronger force for young people to get into vaping. With the ban in place, single-use vaping suppliers have until June 1, 2025 to clear their stocks.
