Cheryl (Tweedy/Cole/Fernandez-Versini) and boyfriend, Liam Payne have submitted plans to double the size of their already huge mansion in Surrey.
This will be the second attempt the pair have tried to convince a borough council to extend the multi-million pound house.
Back in June the local authority refused to let the couple build a super garage – an obvious necessity to house their fleet of six cars worth £1 million.
However, it seems that the refusal made on the basis that development will be “harmful to the green belt” has not phased the Girls Aloud band member and the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker.
This time round the celebrity pair are trying their luck with an even more ambitious plan.
It’s believed the ‘Fight For This Love’ hitmaker is keen to build a designated space for her parent so she can be on hand to look after their baby.
Fresh designs submitted on August 10 include a large indoor swimming pool, a spacious guest house, gigantic garage and a passageway linking the new buildings to the current house.
If the plan goes ahead, the mansion will be more than double in size. According to the planning statement, it will “amount to an 80% increase,” to be precise.
Former One Direction member turned soloist Liam bought the £5.1 million mansion in March 2015.
Since the purchase, Cheryl and Liam have submitted a total of six applications to extend the large mansion, including the current plan iterations.
These include a single storey extension in May 2015 which came with an indoor pool complete with a plant area, jacuzzi, sauna, rockery and changing area.
Could these renovations mean that the singers are already planning for baby number two?! Recently, Liam revealed he would be keen.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: “(my son) Bear is the best creation I’ve ever made so I welcome the idea completely. But, when? I don’t really know.”
“I’m about to do an album and tour for a bit so we need some time before we think about baby No2, but we’ve got time so that’s OK.”
DMZ thinks that the Surrey council is doing a great job by not getting pushed into a corner and accepting the singers demands. They have stayed strong to ensure the property being built in is the same style as the houses which surround it, so kudos to them for not being intimidated by the popstar power couple.
