During its presentation at the CES trade show in Las Vegas, Sony stated that the lack of PlayStation 5 that has prevailed since the console’s release should now be gone. At the CES presentation, Sony’s head of games Jim Ryan thanked PS5 buyers for their patience and went on to say:
“Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally, from this point on.”
The lack of a PS5 has previously been explained by Sony having problems sourcing certain components used in the console. This, in turn, had to do with the global shortage, among other things, of semiconductors, a shortage which, according to many suppliers, is also being overcome.
During the presentation, Ryan also mentioned that 30 million PlayStation 5 units have been sold globally, which is nearly five million more than the PS5 sales figure that Sony announced in November.
