CapitalRise’s pitch to
raise £1.5m in equity funding on Seedr has already surpassed its initial
target, raising almost £1.75m todate.
CapitalRise is an online
platform allowing property borrowers to raise finance quickly and efficiently
while investors obtain what it calls ‘market leading returns of 8-12% per year’
from secured lending to prime real estate. It aims is to provide investors with
access to institutional grade real estate which was previously only available
to those with millions to invest.
CEO & Co-founder Uma
Rajah says this funding round will be used to widen the company’s audience of
investors, as well as make larger property loans: “We’re humbled by the show of
support already received from our community, and now look forward to
introducing the business to an even wider audience of crowdfunding investors
through the Seedrs platform.
“Whilst this raise will be
used to expand the business, this year we are also looking to write
increasingly bigger ticket loans, whilst ensuring we never compromise on the
quality of assets we lend against, so that we can maintain our impressive track
funding target was quite modest given the size of the property finance market.
However, investors who are willing to invest through crowdfunding have no
shortage of places to put their money right now, so the fact it has been
exceeded could be seen as a vote of confidence in the model.
