Craft brewery and bar
chain BrewDog says that it is planning the open the UK’s
first craft beer hotel in London,
and has already started looking for a location.
The company opened its
first beer hotel – which it calls The DogHouse – in Columbus, Ohio
last summer. The company says that it ‘has been fully booked pretty much ever
since’ with ‘beer-loving guests raving about the draft beer in every room,
shower-beer fridges and the craft beer museum.’ BrewDog say that the proposed London hotel will offer
the same kind of experience.
BrewDog say: “We are
actively hunting for an epic site (in London)
at the moment. Once we have opened up you guys will be able to stay for the
ultimate pit stop on a visit to the capital and its amazing craft beer scene –
but it will be packed with so many cool beer-related features you will never
want to leave.” The company is inviting suggestions for a suitable location.
Brewdog has a reputation
for its colourful publicity stunts, so sceptics might wonder how serious they
actually are about this idea. Then again, the company has grown fast on the
back of the craft beer craze over the last few years. So it could just be the
start of a beer-themed hotel property empire that could become quite a
significant force in the hotel and leisure property market into the future.
