Blur [UK] Ready as the first major act for Way Out West 2023!

Way Out West made a big comeback last year after a two-year hiatus. The sun shone for all three days and the festival managed to present an impressive new record to the public at the same time. The festival returns this summer from August 10 to 12 for its 15th edition, and today the first main act is released. For next year.

Fans around the world rejoiced when British band Blur recently announced that they will be returning with a huge concert at London's Wembley next year. Today it's clear that the band's reunion tour will also make a stop at Way Out West in August.

What was billed as a one-off thankfully turned out not to be so, meaning the iconic London quartet will bring a ridiculously deep discography to Castle Forest next year. Lead singer Damon Albarn says the band really loves their songs and it's time to play them again with songs like 'Song 2', 'Parklife', 'Girls & Boys', 'Tender', 'Coffee & TV' and 'Ghost Ship' in his pocket Back, and it's hard to blame him for the last time the British pop legends broke their silence was with the iconic album 'Magic Whip' but that was seven years ago and seven years without Blur is seven years too many.

We are very satisfied with the outcome of this summer's festival, and we seem to share this feeling with the audience, artists and other participants. Extra fun after a two year hiatus! 2022 has us more than ever longing for the upcoming festival and everything that comes with it. We're aiming for an even better Way Out West 2023 and it looks like Blur are also aiming for a record year in 2023says Ola Broquist, founder of Way Out West

Way Out West 2023 takes place August 10-12 in Slottsskogen in Gothenburg. A limited number of Early Bird tickets for the festival will go on sale tomorrow, Friday 2 December at 12pm via Way Out Wests website. More artists will be presented continuously until the festival.
