That's what gaming journalist Jason Schreier writes in his new book, “Play Nice: The Rise, Fall and Future of Blizzard Entertainment.”
Blizzard Entertainment may be best known today for the Overwatch and World of Warcraft series, but… One of their biggest game series is undoubtedly the “Starcraft” strategy games. – Where marines fight against disgusting zerg creatures.
However, a few years ago, they had a different project underway, called “StarCraft: Ghost” to the controllers. Here, in a stealth-based action adventure, you were supposed to play as a ghost agent, but the game was canceled after development problems in 2005.
They also had a game codenamed “Starcraft: Ares” in the works, which was described as a first-person shooter similar to the “Battlefield” series. This too has been closed.
But now, Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier tells us in his new book “Play Nice: The Rise, Fall and Future of Blizzard Entertainment,” which will be released on October 8, that the studio has The new StarCraft game In Progress which is described as an action-based shooter.
The game's development will be led by Dan Hay, who was previously responsible for Ubisoft's “Far Cry” series.
Jason Schreier says he doesn't know if the game is still in development or if it's also been shut down, but that remains to be seen.
