Asus gets rid of cable clutter with connectors on the back

Achieving neat cable routing can be a challenge even for experienced computer builders, especially with more complex projects that require more cables. One possible solution that motherboard manufacturers have come up with is to hide the cables by moving the connectors to the back of the motherboard. Gigabyte calls its version Stealth and Asus introduced last year with DIY-APE projectAn idea that is now becoming a reality.

Asus launch TUF Gaming B760M-BTF Wifi D4, Micro ATX model with LGA 1700 socket and DDR4 memory support. The motherboard is almost completely devoid of connectors on the front and only spaces remain for components such as expansion cards, storage and primary memory. A lot happens instead on the back of the motherboard, where the usual connectors appear, among other things, the power supply, USB connectors and the fan.

The motherboard’s unusual design can hide most cables, and Asus believes the arrangement should make cable routing easier for beginners. Something that may not help beginners are the large chassis compatibility question marks that come with the newcomer. Asus has declared that only a certain chassis can accommodate the motherboard, but there is no listing available for it at this time.

The Asus TUF Gaming B760M-BTF Wifi D4 has not yet appeared in Swedish trade, and Asus has not announced any pricing. One possible clue could be the brother of the motherboard with the connectors in the usual place, which at the time of writing came to about 2500 kronor.
