Yesterday we listed all of the Ehandel Norden markets, a list that of course included Amazon. But we also highlighted one of the biggest strengths in the markets there, being that we’re able to expand quickly and test new markets.

Today, Amazon releases the news that it will be easier to expand within European markets for the company. Something is of course very topical when e-retailers are now looking for new revenue in a cooler economic climate.
So what did Amazon cook? Well, with just two clicks (according to Amazon), you as a seller should be able to expand to Amazon’s nine marketplaces in Europe. The countries are Sweden, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium and Great Britain.
The European Expansion Accelerator is the solution our vendors have been missing for years; To grow and be able to offer millions of new products to Amazon customers in our many online stores. “We’re excited to now be able to offer this two-click step to sellers in Europe to help them grow their business with Amazon,” said Xavier Flamand, Vice President, Seller Services Europe.
Hence, the service is named European Expansion Accelerator (EEA) and the only requirement to use it is to be active in one of the countries listed. Two clicks might indicate Amazon, but they’ve obviously made it as simple as possible and after activating a new marketplace, it should only take a few days before you’re active in the new country. The system handles, for example, translation, pricing and value-added tax in connection with product listings, but the seller is also obliged to check certain steps in the process, as far as we understand. For example, make sure that the products are legal in different countries.
With EEA, Amazon Selling Partners can access a page in Seller Central, discover stores they haven’t sold to yet, and click to expand. Account registration, configuration, translations, menus, delivery configuration, product eligibility checks, and catalog customizations will be performed automatically within three business days.
The EEA will build on many of Amazon’s services, which are now being combined into a more automated solution. You can choose as many countries as you want to expand to and the process should be just as quick and easy for everyone, according to the e-tailer. The new service should not cost any extra to use.
