The popular game series where Disney meets “Final Fantasy” gets a fourth game, which seems to be taking place in our world.
Regarding the “Kingdom Hearts” series that turned 20 years old, Square Enix revealed it “Kingdom Hearts IV” In development, you can watch a 4 minute trailer in the clip below.
“Kingdom Hearts” is a Japanese game series that mixes elements from the “Final Fantasy” series and Disney films, where you can visit worlds from films such as The Lion King, “Frost” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
After the events of “Kingdom Hearts III”, we see Sora wake up in a city called Quadratum, which is very similar to the realistic interpretation of Tokyo. However, we also note that Kalle and Långben are involved, so it doesn’t seem like we need to worry about Disney characters not showing up.
Maybe we should visit popular movies like “Encanto” and “Turning Red” in the fourth game?
Square Enix hasn’t revealed a release date or which console “Kingdom Hearts IV” is supposed to be released on, but it looks like the game should be in an early stage of development. “Kingdom Hearts III” was released in 2019 after many years of waiting, so the fourth game will likely take a few years.
“We want to thank fans for all their support over the years and look forward to trying everything that comes for Sora,” says Ichiro Hazama at Square Enix.
During the live broadcast, a mobile game for Android and iOS devices was also shown, called “Kingdom Hearts Missing Link” where we can see different characters fighting monsters in the world Scala ad Caelum. This game also does not have a release date, but a closed beta will be released sometime in 2022.
When the first “Kingdom Hearts” was released in 2002, it was a wonderful experience for many, including myself. The undirected mix of Japanese RPGs and Disney games did unexpectedly well and have many fans all over the world.
