A portal with ray tracing was released on December 8th

In connection with Nvidia’s presentation of the Geforce RTX 4000 series, it became known that Portal, which was first released in 2007, will receive a corresponding graphics update. The update comes in the form of a free add-on that, among other things, improves lighting in the game and adds improved models and textures.

In Portal with RTX, full ray tracing transforms every plane, allowing light to bounce off and affect the geometry and textures of a scene. Every light is ray-traced and casts shadows, global indirect lighting naturally brightens and darkens rooms, volumetric ray-traced lighting disperses through fog and smoke, and shadows are pixel-perfect. Portal for RTX is compatible with all ray tracing capable GPUs.

As for Portal with RTX, it’s the second and lowest recommended donut instead landing on either an Intel Core i7-6700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 on the processor side, accompanied by at least one Geforce RTX 3060.
