The woman's residence was discovered by traders working on the roof of a supermarket in Midland, Michigan. After their curiosity was piqued by the presence of a wire protruding from a rooftop space used to hold up a banner, they decided to investigate.
When the craftsmen opened At the door, they found a 34-year-old woman with all of her belongings in the small space.
– Parts of the floor have been laid. A small desk, her clothes, a coffee maker, a printer and a computer are items in the house, police officer Brennon Warren told the AP.
The 34-year-old told police she had lived in the sign for about a year. She got electricity through a rooftop outlet, but it's unclear how she got food and water. The woman stated that she had a job and lived in Trigonometry because she could not live anywhere else.
The sign itself is triangular, It is about 1.5 meters wide and 2.5 meters long. No ladder was found, and police instead believe the woman climbed nearby storefronts to get to and from the sign.
The woman cooperated with the police and left the roof after she was discovered. She is not suspected of any crimes.
