The Swedish Research Council is awarding six researchers at Stockholm University project grants in medicine and health totaling just over 32 million Swedish krona.

At Stockholm University, four researchers have been awarded project grants and two foundation grants:
Project contribution
Tore Bengtsson, MBW: “Stimulation of β2 adrenergic receptors for the treatment of type 2 diabetes”, 3,000,000 SEK;
Nousheen Emami, MPW: “The exosome: key to malaria parasite survival by enhancing the interaction between Plasmodium and Anopheles,” SEK 5,600,000;
Eva Hedlund, DBB: “Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis as a systemic biological disease: linking bioenergetic dysfunction to improper cell-cell communication”, 5,600,000 SEK;
Mats Nilsson, DPP: “Definitely developing resistance in breast cancer tumors using in situ sequencing,” 5,600,000.
Foundation grant
Alec Eriksson, MBW: “Clonal analysis reveals epigenetic drivers of craniofacial birth defects,” 6,000,000 SEK;
Iskra Polak-Dorošić, DBB: “Spatial-molecular and functional mapping of serotonin subsystems”, 6,000,000 SEK.
