The Voice UK 2023 final reveals the winning act

The Voice UK 2023 final reveals the winning act

The winners of the latest series of The Voice UK have been named Newcastle-based duo Jen & Liv.

Jenna Cole and Olivia Irvine's coach for the ITV1 competition, William.i.am, looked emotional as his singers took home a recording contract with Universal Music, a £50,000 cash prize and a holiday in Mauritius.

During the twelfth series, Jenna, 21, from Whitley Bay, and Liv, 24, from County Durham, were mentored by Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am.

“We're really grateful,” Liv said. “We've worked so hard and our families are there, we love them so much. All the coaches – Will, you've changed our lives so much. We feel amazing. Thank you all, thank you.”

During the finale, Jen & Liv performed Whitney Houston's hit song “I'm Every Woman” together as well as performing with Will.i.am on Beyoncé's “Break My Soul.”

“Seeing the girls, it reminds me of me and Apple, and my best friend,” coach William I.M. said through tears.

“Seeing people who really appreciate each other and support each other, it reminds me of the person I built my dream with, who is my best friend.”

Black Eyed Peas founding member Apl.de.ap was also a coach on The Voice Of The Philippines.

This is Will.i.am's second win on the show, and Jen and Liv are the first couple to win, according to ITV.

Jane and Liv beat Greenwich's Hope Winter, Cardiff's Julie Stevens and Telford's Callum Doaney.

Elsewhere in the episode, judges including Olly Murs, Will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and Anne-Marie also performed before the final and in a duet with their trained singers.

There were also performances from Ray and last year's winner Anthonia Edwards with Emma Willis hosting the final.

Morse announced in September that he would not be returning to ITV's The Voice UK after the series.

This is the final episode of the twelfth series of the show overall, with the first having been broadcast on BBC One in 2012.
