HÄRYDA | Maria Bedimir started Tesällskapet with the goal of offering an exciting tea experience. In the next room, friend Lina Åberg has her second-hand shop Vintage Mood, where there are furniture from several eras, to contribute to a more circular consumption.
The common denominator for the companies is that they reside in the east wing of the Råda estate in Mölnlycke.
The eastern wing of Råda säteri is an old building marked K and has been restored to be able to conduct activities there. The tiled stoves from the building of the house still remain, and on the newer, lighter wood floors are shelves and tables stocked with various teas. Maria Bedimir, the owner of Tesällskapet, says that she brings many unusual teas from different countries, including Great Britain, France, Denmark and even directly from India and China. Some varieties are only sold in Sweden.
– I usually say that tea is everywhere, but a large part of it is ‘ugly’, i.e. tea that is not kept of high quality and flavored with synthetics. It’s quite another to try these teas. I want to be able to offer unique teas of high quality and an extraordinary taste experience, says Maria.
The Tea Society’s goal has always been to make people feel good.
– Tea is a magical drink that keeps you company when you are alone, and in the company of others, your time is better with every cup of tea in hand. Tea warms from the inside and is a very social drink that provides good health effects. Maria says interest in tea is growing.
It also offers quiz wonders, which it calls “TEvents,” to encourage people to spend time with their friends or family. The Tea Society occasionally collaborates with artists, yoga instructors, and certified media to create different types of tea tastings where you can create artwork, have a yoga session in the garden, or enjoy tea leaves.
– We have all kinds of guests at events, everything from trendy vegans, real ‘teenagers’, granny and girlfriend or gang girls who want to enjoy relaxing moments together, she says.
Maria calls her clients her “tea buddies,” and today they make up a huge part of the business.
