Geforce RTX 3060 may get RTX 3070 Ti mini chip

Geforce RTX 3060 may get RTX 3070 Ti mini chip

Since Nvidia launched the Geforce RTX 3060 in February 2021, the popular mid-range card has had time to be reworked several times in new versions. In addition to switching to the LHR-branded variant to curtail miners’ interest, there’s also a watered-down version with less graphics memory and a screwed-up memory bus from the end of 2022. Now another variant may be in the works, this time inheriting from its older brother, the RTX 3070 Ti.

Currently, all versions of the Geforce RTX 3060 for desktop computers use the GA106 graphics chip. With the new version, it is said to have been replaced by a significantly reduced version of the GA104, i.e. the graphics circuit found in a full-band format in the RTX 3070 Ti. notice technology promotiona discovery they make for the second time.

Just as mentioned earlier, the larger circuit is limited to only 28 groups of 48 SM’s, giving the equivalent configuration of 3584 CUDA cores as its sibling the GA106. This time around, however, the graphics card is said to receive the same treatment as the last RTX 3060 Ti, as Nvidia introduced GDDR6X. With a higher memory frequency and a 192-bit memory bus, the theoretical bandwidth rises to 456GB/s.

Nvidia’s plans to add another member to the RTX 3060 family are attributed to them having stockpiles of the GA104 chip that they simply want to get rid of. By shrinking the more expensive circuits and de-energizing the parts, it is also possible to use partially defective circuits, as they are still good for simpler graphics cards. It remains to be seen if the second time around and some new RTX 3060s actually show up this time around.
