Sony had their state of play the other day and we found out Baldur’s Gate 3 It’s coming to Playstation 5. In the trailer, however, only PC and Playstation 5 are mentioned, so it made many (including the undersigned) wonder if the game was gone and a PS5 exclusive. Larian also said previously that they don’t deal with platform exclusive titles, which of course raised more questions after the announcement of Playstation 5.
A Larian spokesperson spoke to Eurogamer and answered a related question Baldur’s Gate 3.
We are now planning to release Baldur’s Gate 3 for PC, Mac, GeForce Now, and PS5.
However, we do not have exclusivity and will announce our support for additional platforms if and when we are ready.
Larian’s Swen Vincke also tweeted this:
Edit: Should be He is An Xbox version is in development, but since it has some technical issues, they don’t want to announce anything.
Xbox players, we’ve seen your questions about whether/when you can expect Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox. We’ve had an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the works for a while, but we’ve had some technical issues – especially with the co-op screen mode. We’re still working on an Xbox version of BG3, but we’re not confident enough to announce it. We don’t like to announce anything until we’re ready, because we don’t want to get people’s hopes up until we’re sure we can deliver.
Thus, Xbox owners can breathe a sigh of relief, but of course it is still not clear when a version of the console will be released. Baldur’s Gate 3 It will be released on August 31.
