Dynafit Radical Pro – Freeride Review

Dynafit Radical Pro – Freeride Review

strength point:
Smooth, easy-to-use switching between walking and riding mode Fits my feet “out of the box” Light weight, comfortable ride Range of motion in walking mode Riding mode

Weaknesses:
I would have liked to see a traditional clip (preferably wire for example on the Tour Technica Zero G Pro) above the ankle compared to the snowboard buckle they now use, as the snowboard buckle is easier to freeze back on. A more traditional buckle would also have allowed for better adjustment. Also a bit annoying as the front “fine-adjust” buckle rotates very easily, which means you often need to readjust it when it accidentally changes position, which easily happens when you take the shoes off and put them on.

The walking mode is very good, but on the wish list is a slightly better ROM (range of motion) for the back to be able to take longer steps and thus save energy. Also on Wish List is that the top “strap” securing the bracelet was of the same construction as the Hoji Free, and is now a Velcro solution. It was actually better to have a belt with a buckle.

summary:
Well-made and well-tested durable boot. Really like the Hoji lock system. Really nice riding feel and perfect riding position. It’s also nice that Dynafit didn’t go over with the speednose, which makes it easier if you need to use straps. He also points out that if you try the Hoji Free and think it doesn’t fit under the foot (many view it as “over the ankle”), it will probably work with the Radical Pro because it’s designed differently.
