Beijing. The Olympic nets heat up when Lag-Hasselburg and Lagden play the semi-finals in 24 hours.
The Swedish women will face Great Britain, which was one of the two teams they lost to in the group stage.
– I would be crazy if I didn’t say that we are the favorites in the qualifiers to win the Olympic gold, we are in the semi-finals and we know what we can do, says Anna Haselburg.
Sweden won the women’s final group stage match 8-4, against Chasing South Korea.
The runner-up was runner-up with seven wins and two losses, the team showed mental strength after early hits and finished with five straight wins.
It was a tough start and hard to get that way. We had good talk, patience and security of ourselves. We are now in a position that we like. We want to have a promotion ring where we do better in the group stage, and then perform at the absolute highest level in the playoffs,” says Agnes Knuchenhauer.
They want revenge
Great Britain and China were the two teams that Sweden lost in the group stage, the loss to Great Britain was 8-2 and the Swedish girls must now try to take revenge.
– She’s been a bit sloppy at times, but we’re really showing how strong we are as a strong team, which takes setbacks and turns them into something positive. Great Britain has an incredibly strong squad and you can’t face a bad game, or even bad roles like in that game, he says Anna Haselburg.
At 1:05 p.m. Swedish time on Thursday, Lagden plays the semi-final against Canada, and the Swedish girls will see that match in place.

– Now damn it, let’s cheer the boys up first and just sit back and enjoy their cool half, I believe in them so badly. Then we’ll eat, sleep, rest, recharge, and exercise a little. Then we go, says Anna Haselburg.
Hasselburg will play the semi-finals against Great Britain at the same time on Friday in the group stage.
In the second semi-final, top-ranked Switzerland meets No. 4-ranked Japan, where they managed to beat big country Canada in emotional scenes.
