More about DaVinci Resolve for iPad. Requires a large iPad.

LumaFusion for iPad might be really cool, but it’s not a dream to have one app and workflow on your iPad and another on your computer. That’s why a lot of people were probably happy when Blackmagic Design told them they were releasing DaVinci Resolve for the iPad.

Now we found out a few more things. The app is designed for 12.9-inch screens, which is reasonable but a little sad. If you have an iPad Pro with M1 or M2, you can go with HDR material. It should be a good idea to connect an external monitor to check the results of what you’re doing. However, they say “Apple Studio Display, Pro Display XDR, or AirPlay Display”, but which screen should work, you might think.

Supported materials are H.264, H.265, Apple ProRes, and Blackmagic RAW. They can be pulled locally, from the cloud or from a USB-C drive. The iPad version can open projects created in DaVinci Resolve on PC.

DaVinci Resolve for free download is coming before the New Year. DaVinci Resolve Studio will be available for purchase.
