Britain celebrates the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth’s accession to the throne four days in June.
The traditional look of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace will be a highlight.
But this time not everyone was allowed to join.
Queen Elizabeth announced on Friday that Prince Harry, Duchess Megan and Prince Andrew would not be allowed on the balcony.
“After careful consideration, the Queen has decided that the traditional appearance on the balcony on June 2 this year is only for her majesty and members of the royal family who are currently performing royal duties,” a court spokesman said.
Andrew lost his royal duties following allegations that he sexually abused then-17-year-old Virginia Quefre. Harry and Megan have had no royal duties since they left the royal family two years ago.
The Prince and Princess’ Message: “Happiness and Respect”
Within minutes of the news that Meghan and Harry were not allowed on the balcony, another message came, according to The Sun. The prince and princess announced that they were going to England for the festivities.
“Prince Harry and Megan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are delighted and proud to be attending the Queen’s Platinum Anniversary in June with their children,” the Prince and Princess said in a statement.
This is the first time Queen Elizabeth Lilliput has met the ten-month-old daughter of Harry and Megan.
