Press release: A new research group at jobbplatsenifokus.se – DigMa, a research group at the University of Mälardalen looking at the importance of digital technology in how work is organized and how business is run today. DigMa is the name of a 6-year international research program in which various aspects of digitization have been studied.
.
We ask Lucia “Why does the group want to join the siteifokus.se job site?”
Lucia says DigMa examines the importance of digital technology in how work is organized and how business is run today. This is done by looking at digitalization in terms of organizational development, rather than treating this development as technology-driven change. She believes that the group does not want to put technology in the background, which often happens in organization and leadership studies, but to use a theoretical perspective that can further understand how technology becomes important to new business and management practitioners.
In the same way, they also try to place space, place and things used in daily work when they develop knowledge of organization and leadership. She says this is one of the reasons they want to be on jobbplatsenifokus.se.
” We believe that arbeidplatsenifokus.se is a great initiative that can contribute to the development of workplaces and -Action Thanks to the fact that different types of skills and experience are collected in one place. Me and with the great changes that are happening and are going to happen, it is very important to have the knowledge that is available” Lucia says.
Contribute knowledge
DigMa will contribute knowledge so that decisions made in organizations can be based on scientific knowledge and can take into account many different viewpoints. Lucia says workplace development is a very complex process. She explains that DigMa researchers are also involved in organizational development issues and regularly hold workshops and presentations for organizations interested in a better understanding of the ongoing changes in organization and management. When workplacesifokus.se is a great opportunity to work at DigMa, many should take advantage, Lucia says.
What does digma mean?
DigMa stands for digital management It is the name of a 6-year international research programme, funded by Forte and which has been in operation since 2017 in which various aspects of digitization have been studied. Everything from virtual meetings to digital nomads and co-working, to digitization and security.
The program is based on field studies conducted in Sweden and the United Kingdom. Researchers in the program specialize in various fields. Among others, they have extensive research experience in leadership, in particular group and relational leadership, in project and change management, in innovation and the introduction of new technology. In the wake of this programme, many projects focus on digitization and management and DigMa is now also collecting these projects.
Post-digital society
Right now, for example, it’s about two projects about meetings in a post-digital society, that is, a society where digital technology is part of everything we do. The project is funded by Riksbank’s Jubilee Fund and is about social and community. As we use digital technology to meet more and more, the way we meet is changing. What researchers are studying is how this plays a role in how community is created and maintained in and between organizations, Lucia says.
Mixed meetings comprehensive and productive
Another project in mixed meetings we may be the most difficult one in the meeting – how can it be made inclusive and productive? In this project, researchers are collaborating with Hitachi Energy and the City of Västerås to create a method that can be used when planning and managing such meetings. Rather than just installing new cameras in an old meeting room, the project examines how meeting practices, technology, and rooms interact in creating a ‘t’ and how to work with different factors to be able to have better meetings where people, competencies and people differ. Experiences can be met “on the ground”.
