Search without spying
Google is the most popular search engine, but it's not the only one. Many newbies define themselves by promising better respect for our personal privacy, one of the most popular is called Duckduckgo. It searches in the same way as Google, but without the spying.
More than one browser
Brave is a browser that prioritizes privacy. The program has a built-in search engine, but it is also available in other browsers. Brave Search has recently been released in a new version that allows you to search as usual – or with the help of artificial intelligence.
Green search engine plants trees
When you search the internet, the search engine makes money from advertising. Challenger Ecosia uses its profits to plant trees. Over 200 million trees have been planted in over 30 countries. Ecosia uses Google or Microsoft Bing as its search engine, and you can choose which one to use in the settings at the top right.
Search in Europe
Most of the search engines are based in the US, but there are also European competitors. French company Qwant stresses that their geographic location means they comply with strict European data protection rules.
AI Search with Co-Pilot
Microsoft is investing heavily in challenging Google search with AI. You can do this via Bing (www.bing.se), but it’s even easier to do it directly by accessing Microsoft’s Copilot AI service.
