A newly renovated Mayfair mansion will have a river flowing through its
main dining room which is deep enough for fish, reports say.
The Daily Mail says that Phones4U founder John Caudwell is installing what it calls a ‘waterway’ in a Thai-themed dining room within the mansion. The new property, extending to 45,000 sq ft and with 15 bedrooms, is being created by combining and refurbishing two adjoining properties. Work has been going on since 2015 and should be completed this year.
The report estimates that
on completion the mansion will be worth circa £250m. This would likely make it
one of London’s
most expensive houses.
The tone of the report
somewhat sensationalises the issue here. The fact of the matter is that this
property will be one of the area’s largest, in the capital’s most expensive
area, and will have an ultra-high specification. It would maybe be quite remiss
if it did not boast high end features like this.
